Just over a month ago, an amazing adventure began. My parents, George and Lesley Birk took serious inventory of their lives and their belongings. They divested themselves of the superfluous and embarked on a journey of discovery and exploration. Selling their home in Perth, they downsized their personal square footage and welcomed the Australian landscape as their backyard. They bought for themselves a home on wheels and now have a very simple fixed address: "On the road, somewhere in Australia." I am truly inspired by their creativity and courageousness to never relax into life and passively let the years pass. This is real living - constantly challenging yourself to invent and design experiences that bring lessons and deeper, more powerful engagement in life.
